Tokugawa Ieyasu, a military commander... A shogun in the early Edo period, he also founded the Edo Shogunate. The design of the front plate is "fern leaves" and "sun disk" (which signify a long life and prosperity of descendants).

Uesugi Kenshin, a military commander who ruled the Hokuriku region, including Echigo Province (present-day Niigata Prefecture), during the Sengoku period. The meaning of his front plate is "sun" and "moon" (it is said that this is because he worshiped Marishiten, the goddess of self-protection and victory).

Star Kabuto...The rivets protruding from the surface of the helmet are called "stars." The part that folds back on the side of the helmet is called the "fukikaeshi," and it seems that its role was to prevent arrows flying from the front from hitting the face. Kuwagata refers to the front crest attached to the front of the helmet. It was already in use during the Heian period, and is said to have been used to show the status of generals and the like.
